PROGRESUL DENDROLOGIC

Environmental Education

Making knowledge about trees and nature accessible to everyone.

Why education comes first

Much of the damage done to trees is unintentional: roots cut during works, trunks injured by machinery, crowns pruned too hard. A little knowledge prevents a great deal of harm. Education is therefore at the heart of our proposed work.

Areas of learning

Botanical learning

Recognising common local trees, understanding how they grow and what they need.

Responsible behaviour

Sorting waste, keeping parks clean, protecting young plantings and respecting wildlife.

Ecosystems

How ponds, parks and tree lines support birds, insects and healthy soil.

Climate and the town

How trees provide shade, cool streets and manage rainwater.

Possible community learning initiatives

  • Introductory talks for residents and community groups
  • Educational sessions organised with schools
  • Guided observation walks in parks and green areas
  • Simple printed and online guides to local trees
  • Awareness activities on waste sorting and clean green spaces
